Today is the beta launch of Chicago Now, featuring Chicago bloggers including yours truly! My new blog over there is called Frugalista -- check it out! The site is created with the Chicago Tribune and should be a huge honkin' success. A lot of the other bloggers are pretty entertaining and informative too.

I checked out your blog. My family routinely buys a membership at an out of state museum at a low price. We alsways choose a museum that is both the ASTC (Association of Science and Technology Centers) and the AZA (American Zoo and Aquarium Association). In doing so, we get reciprocal membership benefits to many many museums and zoos across the country. We spent only $69 for a family membership to a tiny musuem in OH that was a member of both societies and reaped the rewards locally.
Wow, go you! Congratulations! Looks like some great reading.
Congrats! Now please tell me about that Jewel outing!
Anon -- What's the museum?? I was going to sign up for Boston Children's museum for same reason but $69 is best deal I've heard. And the Boston museum doesn't include zoos.
Try the Booneshaft Museum of Natural History in Dayton, UH. It has both memberships and costs $69 per family per year. We actually received a hand written thank you note from them when we joined! I'll be they are wondering why so many people from IL joined them! We actually went there on a trip recently. It is a nice childrens museum that includes a small zoo in it (hence the AZA designation). You could see all of it in an hour!
