Jewel Coupons: Sad But True

Recently a few readers mentioned that they have heard Jewel will no longer accept expired coupons as of May 1. It's true. Here's a trade journal article with the announcement. I also noticed a sign at a local Jewel about the new policy.
Funny, since my location never willingly took an expired coupon, I didn't even know this was a major reason why some people go to Jewel.

O.M.G. This is awful news! Their acceptance of expired coupons was one of the main reasons I shopped at Jewel. They're going to have to drastically lower their prices if they expect to retain my business at the current level. I've been in the suburbs for 5+ years now, and I've never had a Jewel not accept my expired coupons. I hope Dominick's doesn't follow suit!

Yup. Definitely not going to be shopping at Jewel as much. Dominick's has been having deals lately, and as long as they continue to accept them I'll go there. Ultra, as well. But now it is a connundrum as to how to sort my coupons...I mainly do couponing at CVS, but always saved expired's for Jewel. But if only Dominick's accepts them, and I don't go on a weekly basis...ugh. it's overfull anyway

There's always Target. I've never had anyone say boo about expired coupons except Walmart. I was spoiled and didn't know it.

So today is the last day to use my expired coupons at Jewel. Too bad.. I have had a lot of fun using them and it is great to have such a big selection so that when one brand of Dish Soap is on sale when I need dish soap I can just ship out the coupon for that brand! Are we sure that Dominicks continues to take them? I am a little tempted to junk the whole file, there some that are older I care to say.. but Jewel always took them..
