Must ... Resist ... Walgreen's

Whenever I try doing a Walgreen's deal, I always end up unsatisfied. Either things that are supposed to produce RRs don't work, or -- like this last time -- even when I do get the RRs, I'm annoyed to see that they're only good for a short time. I ended up spending my $13 in RRs on garbage bags and Ziplocs, which I needed but which weren't even on sale, and because my purchase was about 2 cents less than the RRs, I had to spend an additional dollar on chapstick. Grr.

But Walgreens works great for lots of people, especially people who don't have CVS nearby. If you're one of them, use this $5/$20 tomorrow (or the rest of today if you still have time to shop)!

I had to laugh at your post, because I can relate SO well. My plans for the great deals at Walgreens NEVER work out. You should see the look on the manager's face when he sees me coming... because he knows he's going to be spending about twenty minutes trying to get the RRs to print lol. Anymore, I only go for the very best of the deals on stuff I need.

I find both ECB and RR to be too frustrating to deal with, but I LOVE Walgreens free-after-rebate deals, which they have a few of every month. This month I got a $15 lotion and $5 mascara completely free after Walgreens credited my Walgreen gift card.

And unlike every other rebate program out there, I can complete a rebate form for Walgreens in about 2 minutes--no scissors, no stamp, no filling out forms

Yeah, I have also tried Wagreen's rebates, and I admit it was surprisingly painless. But I still prefer my ECBs.

Eh, not only do the RR's not print half the time, but when I tried to do the free-after-rebate thing, I finally got a response that "item not found on receipt" (before they went online). It was totally the right item and it was totally there. I'm convinced they just don't want me around!

I've had good luck with the Walgreens next door (1/2 mile from my house) The person who always waits on me Sat afternoons when I combine all the coupons and RR and everything else there is always amazed at the deals I get. If something doesn't print (RR), she always is a big help finding out what went wrong and rectifying it.

I avoid the RR like the plague. But the rebates are fun, and double dip days and such. I can do that. As long as I go on Sunday before they run out ;)
