Family Fun Friday: Halloween Is Cheaper for Procrastinators

I really think sometimes procrastination can be a blessing. Like, this summer the hubs dug this big old rusted basketball hoop out of our yard. He cut up most of it and put it in the trash, and used a sledgehammer to break off pieces of concrete from the base, which we also tossed. But the remaining lump of concrete, Waste Management woudln't touch. So it sat and sat in our alley, an eyesore and even a public safety risk, since it was pretty sharp. But instead of someone getting hurt or us getting a fine or something, instead one day some mysterious person showed up and took the thing away. For no charge. Like, they wanted it or something.

Moral of the story: If you procrastinated for Halloween, you will now be rewarded! Plenty of places are already marking down costumes and stuff as much as 40%:

40% off Halloween costumes at Diapers.com, plus free shipping
Also, use this code to get $10 off a $50 order: AFFL10

We got a wig for Nutmeg's Dorothy costume at CVS, marked down to $3.75 from $5.

Even Goodwill is doing markdowns, at least the one I visited yesterday in
Riverside, Il. I got a princess dress for Nutmeg to play dress up with, marked $6, for $4.

Finally, for some extreme Halloween fun, this Dremel 764-04 Pumpkin Carving Kit includes 6-
Volt Minimite Cordless Rotary Tool and 10 Templates
is marked down 38% on Amazon. I'd love to see my artist husband go to town on a pumpkin with that thing!
