Oatmeal, Granola Bars for Less Than $1

In one of the CertiSaver grocery flyers for this coming week, there is a coupon for $3 off the purchase of 5 participating Quaker products. Pictured are oatmeal cannisters, Chewy granola bars, Aunt Jemima syrup, various instant oatmeals, Life cereal, Cap'n Crunch and pancake mix.

At least at my local CertiSaver store (this flyer is for Pan's Foods, we also have one called Fair Share Foods), Quaker Oats are on sale starting tomorrow for $1.50 for an 18 oz. cannister, quick or dead. I mean, regular. the Chewy Granola bars or the cereal are $2 each.

Now, this coupon SAYS "manufacturer's coupon," so I don't know if any stores will let you combine it with regular mqs. Last time I tried that with a coupon from the flyer, Pan's Foods totally shot me down. On the upside, the coupon should be good at any grocery store, not just the one that printed it in its flyer.

Here's a couple sample deals, first with extra coupons, then without. With coupons, you could get five cannisters of oatmeal, 5 boxes of granola bars, or a combination of such for only 40 cents each. But, I'm not predicting that you WILL be able to combine this coupon with other mqs.

1. 5 cannisters oats $7.50
- 3.00 Quaker mq
2.50 Quaker mqs (.50/1 x 5, from the 9/7 RedPlum)
2.00 -- 40 cents a cannister!!!!

2. 5 Chewy granola bars $10.00
- 3.00 Quaker mq
5.00 Chewy Granola Bars mqs ($1/1 from inside boxes or from the 9/7 RedPlum)
2.00 -- 40 cents a box!!!!

Without other coupons, the $3/5 coupon could still make for a pretty sweet deal:

$7.50 for 5 oatmeals - 3.50 = $4.50, or 90 cents a cannister
$10 for 5 granola bars - 3.50 = $6.50, or $1.30 a box

Come to think of it, if you have enough $1/1 coupons, you're actually better off using those on granola bars this week instead of the $3/5.

Update: Another deal for this coupon in the sales starting Thursday, 9/25:

At Ultra Foods:

5 18-oz. Quaker Oats $4.90
- 3.00 $3/5 mq
1.90 = 38 cents each!

By the way, I looked up the coupon match-ups on Hot Coupon World. It's my first time using that site, and I love it already. Registering only took about 2 seconds.

One of our local stores (that usually never had anything decent on sale) had this coupon in their flyer a couple weeks ago. They wouldn't take other manufacturer's coupons with the one from the flyer. I ended up buying 5 canisters of quick oats for $7.50 and using the $3 off coupon. Still a good deal...
