The $10 Kellogg's Rebate at CVS This Week Can Get You 10 Boxes for About a Buck

When I first looked at the bogo Kellogg's cereals deal this week, I was thinking about the "try it free" rebate currently available for new flavors of mini wheats and Smart Start.

But now that I think of it, this would be an excellent opportunity to use the $10 Kellogg's rebate from the Sunday insert (what was that, 3 weeks ago?). Here's how:

10 boxes Kellogg's cereals @ about $4.50 each, bogo $22.50
----------------------------------------------------------------------------- - 2.00 $2/$10 CVS q
- 10.00 mqs (coupons.com and Smartsource have been printing $1/1 for any mini wheats and Smart Start)
--------
10.50 + tax + .42 stamp
- 10.00 Kellogg's rebate
--------
total cost = .92 + tax

I was actually going to take the kids to SuperTarget this afternoon to do the Kellogg's deal there with Pop Tarts and Yogos (hoping Yogos Sour Bits are one of the "selected others" that are also on sale for $1.75 each this week because some of my coupons are specific). Here's the deal I'm hoping to do there:

Six boxes Pop-Tarts $10.50
four boxes Yogos 7.00
-----------------------------------
17.50
- 3.00 (3x $1/2 Pop Tarts mq from newspaper insert)
3.00 (6x .50/1 Pop Tarts Target q from AFullCup.com)
4.00 (4x $1/1 Yogos mq)
-------
7.50 + tax
EARN $2.50 AFTER MAIL-IN $10 REBATE

HMM, which one to do. The CVS deal is more sensible since I would not have to drive anywhere and having 10 boxes is more practical than 10 boxes of Pop Tarts and fruit snacks. And yet, Pop Tarts are my childhood weakness, and I haven't had any in YEARS! Well, maybe my grandma saved me a Sunday insert from that week, so I could do two rebates. That would be sweet.
